NAJĪB AL-DAWLA
NAJĪB AL-DAWLA (d. c. 1315), court physician and administrator at the court of the Il-Khāns in Persia at the end of the 13th century and beginning of the 14th century. Najīb al-Dawla was closely associated with the Jewish vizier, Sa'd al-Dawla\>\> , and with the court physician, vizier, and historian, Rashīd al-Dīn (of Jewish origin, according to some sources). He seems also to have been for some time governor of the city of Nubandagan, near Shiraz in Persia. -BIBLIOGRAPHY: Fischel, Islam, 105; B. Spuler, Mongolen in Iran (19683), index.
